Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is meeting European leaders in London today, after US President Donald Trump claimed that Zelensky was “not ready” to sign a peace proposal from the US.

During today's meeting in London, Zelensky will discuss the latest American peace proposal with the leaders of Britain, France and Germany, according to British media.

Three days of talks in Florida ended on Sunday without any visible breakthrough. The US president is clearly expressing dissatisfaction. According to Trump, the Ukrainian president is not ready to accept the contents of the latest draft.

"Russia, I think, has no problem with it, but I'm not sure that's the case with Zelensky. His people love it, but he's not ready," Trump said.

I am a little disappointed that a few hours ago President Zelensky had not yet read the proposal.

A previous American draft peace plan was called by critics a Russian wish list. Among other things, Ukraine would effectively give up occupied territories and little else, as well as agree to limit its military capabilities and renounce future military alliances.

A new draft has since been produced following talks between the US and Ukraine. However, much remains unclear. Among other things, the proposal reportedly does not mention how large a defense Ukraine should be allowed to have.
