This is happening since the White House accused New York University of not protecting students from anti-Semitism during last year's large pro-Palestinian demonstrations.
On Saturday, the Israeli Haaretz reports that four Columbia students have been expelled and banned from campus after pro-Palestinian protests this week.
Earlier in the week, President Donald Trump announced that all American schools and universities that "allow illegal protests" will be denied funding.
"Rioters should be imprisoned or permanently deported to their country of origin", he wrote on his own platform Truth Social.
American students are to be expelled or imprisoned, depending on the crime in question, according to Trump.
During last spring's campus protests against Israel's warfare in Gaza, thousands of students were arrested at several universities in the USA. The demonstrations also spread to other countries.
