In recent months, the United States has carried out repeated military attacks on boats it accuses of smuggling drugs. At least 80 people have been killed, according to AFP news agency estimates. Tensions between the United States and countries in South America have increased as a result of the attacks.
During a video call with American soldiers, which was broadcast live on the White House's X account, Donald Trump revealed that they are now planning to stop drug smugglers from Venezuela in other ways as well.
We will start stopping them on land too. It's easier on land.
Trump believes that smuggling at sea has been greatly reduced as a result of the attacks.
It's stopped almost 85 percent at sea, you've probably noticed. People don't want to deliver them (the drugs) at sea anymore.
