Cuba's communist one-party state is suffering from severe fuel shortages, largely due to the halt in oil supplies from Venezuela following the US capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
Earlier in May, Trump claimed that the United States would soon "take over" Cuba, without elaborating further.
