This comes after the British media company admitted that they heavily edited a speech by Trump on January 6, 2021.
"We will file the lawsuit tonight or tomorrow," Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday evening, Swedish time.
It's been exactly a month since Trump said he would sue the BBC for up to five billion dollars, equivalent to almost 50 billion kronor.
The issue concerns the editing of the speech that Trump gave and which was shown in the documentary “Panorama.” The editing, in which Trump’s quotes have been cut, gives the impression that the president is directly calling for violence in the run-up to the deadly storming of the Capitol building.
The BBC has previously rejected Trump's claim for damages.
