”We want Venezuela to immediately receive all prisoners and people from mental hospitals who have been forced into the USA”, wrote Donald Trump on the platform Truth Social.
”Thousands of people have been seriously injured and even killed by these ’monsters’”.
The President added in capital letters: ”Get them out of our country, immediately, or the price you will pay will be unimaginable!”
Last Friday, Venezuela accused the USA of waging an ”undeclared war” in the Caribbean and urged the UN to investigate the USA for killing over a dozen alleged drug smugglers on boats in recent weeks. Most recently, on Saturday, Trump stated that three alleged drug smugglers had been killed.
Washington has sent warships to international waters off the coast of Venezuela, supported by F-35 fighter jets, in the largest American naval operation in the Caribbean in decades. This has raised concerns that the USA is planning to attack Venezuelan territory.
The attacks have sparked debate since drug smuggling in itself does not carry the death penalty under American law, and Washington has not provided any concrete evidence that the targets that were attacked actually smuggled drugs.
