Next goal for Donald Trump's savings zeal: The Defense Headquarters Pentagon.

The newspaper The Washington Post writes that the President of the USA has given the Defense Minister Pete Hegseth an order to cut 8 percent of the Pentagon's budget.

However, the entire Pentagon is not affected. According to the newspaper, there are 17 exceptions to the savings, including the efforts at the border with Mexico and a modernization of nuclear weapons.

The Pentagon's budget is 850 billion dollars, equivalent to approximately 9,100 billion kronor. The annual savings would thus be around 730 billion kronor.

"President Trump's order to the Defense Department is clear: achieve peace through strength", Hegseth writes in the PM that the newspaper has read.

The plans are expected to be ready next week, according to The Washington Post.
