In a podcast published on Monday, Trump is asked about rumors that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Musk could be investigated or have his assets seized if Democrats take control of Congress.
“That’s talk. But if that’s the case, we have to protect him,” Trump .
Musk has spent almost half a billion dollars in recent years opposing Democrats, Axios writes. He recently claimed it would mean the end of democracy if Democrats win the White House and Congress in the 2028 elections.
The president also says there could be talk of “preemptive pardons” for several of his employees.
“I wouldn’t even think about it - I would just do it,” he says.
