USA's president Donald Trump has under large security measures arrived at the golf classic Ryder Cup on Bethpage Black. He was met with cheers from the large audience.

Trump arrived by plane to the course on Long Island, a few miles outside central New York.

According to Expressen, he arrived together with his grandson Kai, 18 years old.

Donald Trump came to the course before the four ball matches and at that point Europe was leading 3–1 in matches. When he landed he said:

It's not going so well for the team so when I heard that I said "let's get on board. We need to fly there and help them".

Trump's visit on Friday has, however, been planned in detail for several weeks. The 79-year-old president is a big golf enthusiast and has previously during the year been present at several major sports events, Super Bowl, the men's tennis final in US Open and the final in the club team World Championship in football.

The American team captain Keegan Bradley commented on the USA's poor start in connection with the plane with Trump flying over the golf club.

We just saw the president flying over here in his Air Force One plane so I have the feeling that things will turn around now.
