This is a good man (Netanyahu). And I have an idea, Mr President, why do you not pardon him? said Trump during his speech in the Knesset.
In a lengthy legal process, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is accused of fraud, bribery and disloyalty to the principal. The allegations include, among other things, receiving bribes in the form of gifts – including champagne bottles and cigars.
Trump also points this out in his speech, although he emphasizes that it is "not part of the speech".
Cigars and champagne, who cares about that? he said.
Netanyahu himself describes the prosecution against him as a politically motivated witch hunt driven by a biased judiciary.
