Israel launched an attack on a building complex in Qatar's capital Doha on Tuesday, in which five Hamas members and one Qatari were killed.
The attack has been called "state terrorism" by Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin al-Thani and sparked irritation in Washington.
Donald Trump is now urging Israel to exercise caution.
They must be very careful. They must do something about Hamas, but Qatar has been a good ally to the USA, said Donald Trump to reporters on Sunday, according to, among others, Haaretz.
When we attack someone, we must show caution.
On Monday, leaders from several Arab countries will discuss the attack at a summit meeting. At the same time, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is visiting Israel.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defended the attack in Qatar and claims that the killing of Hamas leaders can force an end to the war.
