"I think I have to do it. They have admitted that they cheated," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
He further says that the lawsuit, which amounts to almost 50 billion kronor, will be filed next week.
The issue concerns the editing of the speech that Trump gave and which was shown in the documentary “Panorama.” The editing, in which Trump’s quotes have been cut, gives the impression that the president is directly calling for violence in the run-up to the storming of the Capitol building.
The BBC has previously rejected Trump's claim for damages.
