In an interview with Fox News, Trump says the US will escalate attacks on Iran.
"We will knock out all their power plants. We will destroy all their bridges if they don't come to the negotiating table," he says.
The statement comes as the US attacks military targets in Iran for the fourth night in a row and the blockade of Iranian ports has been resumed.
Trump says the attacks will continue "until I say enough is enough."
On Tuesday evening, reports came of explosions on the Iranian island of Qeshm in the Strait of Hormuz, writes the AFP news agency. The Kuwaiti military said at about the same time that incoming projectiles had been shot down by the country's air defenses. Iran is also said to have attacked a military base in Jordan, where American fighter jets are stationed.
