They "must not be political pawns in the game for the Democratic Party. It has become so outrageous that I believe their licenses can and should be revoked", Trump writes on his social media platform Truth Social.
In another post, he specifically attacks NBC and ABC. Trump claims that NBC has lost almost 28 percent of its viewers this year, without presenting any evidence for it, and that the channel should be held responsible for being "an extension" of the Democrats.
The outburst against the media companies is one in a long line of attacks over the years. Even during the presidential campaign last autumn, Trump threatened to revoke licenses. CBS, ABC, NBC and even Fox News have been affected by the threats.
In early July, Paramount reached a settlement with Trump for $16 million after he sued the media giant's subsidiary CBS News for how presidential candidate Kamala Harris was portrayed in an interview on the program "60 minutes".
Host Stephen Colbert criticized the settlement in his talk show "The late show" and a week ago, the TV network announced that "The late show" will be discontinued next year. The decision was publicly praised by Trump.
Recently, Trump also sued The Wall Street Journal and its owner Rupert Murdoch for nearly 100 million kronor for publishing a "filthy" letter that Trump, according to the newspaper, sent to the now deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein on his 50th birthday, 2003.
