Trump threatens to cut off all trade with Spain after it refused to let the U.S. use its air bases

"Some European countries, like Spain, have been terrible. I have told Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to cut off all trade with Spain," Trump said at a White House press conference.

The US president says that Spain also "didn't like" that he wanted to force all NATO countries to spend 5 percent of their GDP on defense.

And now they've said we can't use their bases. We can use them if we want. We can fly there and use them. Nobody can tell us not to use them.

Spain has absolutely nothing that interests us, except its people, who are wonderful.
