"We can see some activity at Pickaxe. I advise Iran not to try to be smart, because then we will have to hit hard," Trump said during the ongoing Republican convention in Texas.

The move comes after a warning from the think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies, CSIS, which analysed newly taken satellite images and noted increased activity.

“Together, these images show more road activity at Pickaxe Mountain in 2026 than at any other time in the site’s history,” writes CSIS.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has long suspected that the underground facility is being used for sensitive uranium enrichment. The site likely serves as a safe haven for Iran's nuclear program, according to CSIS analysts.
