This is not the first time Trump has threatened Iran with annihilation. In early April, he wrote a widely publicized post on Truth Social stating that "an entire civilization will die" if the country did not agree to a deal with the United States.
A week ago, Iran submitted a response to the peace proposal put forward by the United States. The response was dismissed by Trump, who called it "completely unacceptable."
