The President of the USA, Donald Trump, announces that the American one-cent coins, so-called "pennies", will cease to be manufactured.
"For far too long, the USA has minted pennies that literally cost us more than 2 cents. This is so wasteful!", Trump writes on the platform Truth Social.
"I have instructed my minister for the American finance department to stop producing new pennies. Let us stop wasting our great nation's budget, even if it's a small amount at a time."
