"It's not going to deter me from winning the war in Iran. I don't know if that had anything to do with it; I really don't think so, based on what we know," Trump said at a press conference after the incident.
On Saturday, Trump canceled the US envoy's trip to Pakistan for new peace talks with Iran, after Iran's proposal that Pakistan act as mediator was not considered good enough.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has subsequently spoken to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
"Pakistan remains committed to acting as an honest and sincere mediator - and working tirelessly to promote lasting peace and lasting stability in the region," Sharif writes on X.
