"We have a lot of ships on the way there, just in case," Trump said on presidential plane Air Force One late Thursday, local time in Sweden, CNN reports.
The president added that the US is “keeping a close eye” on the Iranian regime after claims it called off planned executions of protesters last week. Trump said he wanted to avoid attacks on the country.
However, on Friday Mohammad Movahedi Azad, roughly equivalent to Iran's attorney general, rejected Trump's claim that executions of 800 people had been halted. He called Trump's information "completely false," state news agency Mizan Online reports.
