The United States has "begun" to hold talks with the Cuban government, President Donald Trump said on Sunday night.
Earlier this week, Trump threatened punitive tariffs against countries that supply Cuba with oil, which he said would force the country's leadership to the negotiating table.
It is unclear how the talks have been conducted so far, and what their goal is, but Trump has repeatedly made harsh statements against Cuba following the capture of Venezuelan President Maduro.
