Sean "Diddy" Combs will not be pardoned, U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with The New York Times.

Combs, who was sentenced to four years and two months in prison for prostitution-related crimes in October last year, is reported to have written a letter to Trump asking for clemency.

Trump has previously indicated that the relationship between them deteriorated when Combs criticized him during Trump's first presidential campaign.

"Seemed like a nice guy," Trump said of Combs on Newsmax last year, adding:

I didn't know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile.
