The latest wave of US attacks began just after midnight and ended about three hours later. The US and Iran have now targeted each other for 13 consecutive nights.
"The attacks are aimed at holding Iran accountable and reducing threats to commercial shipping from the Revolutionary Guard," the US Central Command wrote on X.
Iranian regime-linked media are reporting explosions in several places in the country overnight. Four people are reported to have been killed near the city of Ahvaz, and explosions have also been heard in other cities.
According to Iranian authorities, the United States attacked a Revolutionary Guard base in Gilan province, state media reports.
Alarm in Bahrain
Iran's military says it has carried out attacks on Bahrain and Jordan in retaliation for recent US attacks.
On Friday, airstrikes in Bahrain were reported. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps said in state media that it had targeted data centers in Bahrain belonging to the American tech giant Amazon. Iran has previously threatened American companies in the region.
"This morning, attacks were directed against fuel tanks, large equipment warehouses and silos, as well as buildings belonging to the American terrorist army at Isa Air Base in Bahrain with Arash kamikaze drones," the military wrote in a statement.
There have been no reports of attacks from Jordan this morning. Reports from Erbil in Iraq indicate that drones have been shot down, the Kurdish news channel Kurdistan24 reports. Earlier in the war, American bases in the city have been attacked.
Frozen assets
Shortly before last night's wave of attacks, Donald Trump said that frozen Iranian assets would be used to compensate for damage caused by Iran.
"Let this statement, for now, serve as an assurance that from now on, any damage to ships, cargo, or anything related thereto will be replaced with Iranian funds in the possession and control of the United States," Donald Trump writes on Truth Social.
Iran warns that American use of the assets will create a "dangerous precedent."
“Those who rejoice or benefit from this should remember: once governments normalize confiscation, no one’s assets are safe. The chaos that follows will not be beautiful or peaceful,” writes Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on X.
