Donald Trump is waiting to announce to the world that Iran is defeated and says the country is "suffering great losses."
"After we defeat Iran, pretty soon, I will declare the Strait of Hormuz American territory. That's true," he said in a speech at a police academy on Long Island, New York.
Basically, it (the strait) is already that. We have a blockade, no ships can pass unless we want them to.
Before the war with Iran, 20 percent of global oil and gas trade passed through the Strait of Hormuz, which was open before the US and Israel launched the war against Iran.
