USA's president Donald Trump urges representatives of Israel and Hamas to "act quickly" to put an end to the war in Gaza. He describes the weekend's talks as successful.

Representatives of the parties will, according to Trump, meet in Egypt on Monday for continued talks. The American president writes on the platform Truth Social that there have already been "very positive discussions" over the weekend with both Hamas and a number of Arab countries.

"The technical teams will meet again on Monday in Egypt to work through and clarify the final details. I have been told that the first phase should be completed this week", the president writes.

Israel stated on Sunday that a delegation from the country will travel to the Egyptian tourist resort Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday for negotiations. Since the new talks were confirmed on Saturday, the start date has varied in different messages.

"The talks have been very successful and are progressing quickly", Trump writes.
