Trump is said to have acted since the far-right activist and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer had a meeting with the president in the White House's Oval Office on Wednesday. There, she is said to have presented evidence showing that a number of people are not loyal enough to Trump's agenda.
Vice President JD Vance, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, and White House Personnel Chief Sergio Gor are also said to have participated in the meeting.
According to several American media outlets, high-ranking officials Brian Walsh, Thomas Boodry, and David Feith have been fired.
Invited a journalist
Brian Hughes, spokesperson for the National Security Council, has declined to comment.
Loomer confirms the meeting at the White House for NBC News and that she shared her "findings" with the president.
"With regard to President Trump and the integrity of the Oval Office, I will refrain from revealing any details," she writes in a statement.
The information comes after last week's revelation that Mike Waltz invited American journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a group chat on the messaging service Signal, where ministers and top officials discussed military attacks on Yemen.
On Wednesday, new information emerged, with Politico reporting that Waltz created at least 20 chats where, for example, Ukraine, China, and Gaza were discussed. It has also been reported that the National Security Adviser used his private email in his work.
Seen with Trump
Officials within national security and experts have warned that the use of Signal may violate laws and regulations.
Laura Loomer, who has promoted conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attacks, was often seen together with Donald Trump during the presidential campaign last year. Recently, she has pointed out certain members connected to the US national security as unreliable on social media, writes AP.
Waltz has taken responsibility for starting the chat group about Yemen but has said that he does not know how Goldberg was invited.
