Trump Replaces Chief of Staff Susie Wiles With Adviser Stephen Miller

Donald Trump is replacing his chief of staff. He announced on Truth Social that Susie Wiles will be replaced by his close adviser Stephen Miller.

Susie Wiles became the first senior White House staffer to be sacrificed after the Republicans’ major election defeat this week.

On Truth Social, Donald Trump wrote that she had done an “outstanding job” but was now moving to a role in his “political effort”.

Miller, who was deputy chief of staff, will take over on Monday. He has been one of Trump’s closest advisers for many years. Considered a hawk, he is behind many decisions to take a tougher line on migrants.

Wiles, who was Trump’s campaign manager for the 2024 election, kept a low profile as chief of staff but was considered, when she took office, to have been the one who managed to stop Trump’s more impulsive actions during the election campaign.

“My role may change, but my obligations to the president and his mission will never change,” she wrote on X after the announcement.
