Greenland is not helping Denmark. Denmark is not investing enough money to really help Greenland, but it is an important part for the United States, Trump said at a press conference at the NATO summit in Ankara, repeating his claim that Greenland is "surrounded by Chinese and Russian ships."
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen commented that Greenland is "of course not for sale":
The Greenlanders do not want to be part of the United States. They have made that clear.
The relationship between the United States, Greenland and Denmark has been tense since Trump on several occasions has demanded control of Greenland, which is part of the Danish kingdom.
