Trump shared an AI-generated clip on his own platform Truth Social in which former president Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama were depicted as monkeys.
At first, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the video. But after heavy criticism, it was removed after being online for twelve hours. The posting has been blamed on an employee.
"I only watched the first part and didn't see the whole thing," he says, adding that his employees who posted it hadn't even looked through the entire video.
