FIFA's Peace Prize goes to Donald Trump, as expected. The US president receives the newly established award for "working for peace throughout the world through his actions."

The International Football Association Board award was presented in connection with the draw for next year's Men's World Cup.

This is your prize, your peace prize, said FIFA chief Gianni Infantino when he presented the prize to Trump, who he introduced as "a leader who cares about the people."

And you truly deserve this FIFA's first peace prize.

Infantino is a friend of Trump, and has already been criticized for being overly flattering towards the president. The fact that an award has now been established that seems tailor-made for Trump fuels that criticism.

At the same time, the president has been relatively openly pursuing the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump and Infantino have had a lot of contact in connection with planning for the World Cup, which will be played in Canada, the United States and Mexico next year.
