Kimmel's monologue was recorded and broadcast last week, before the correspondents' dinner in Washington, where the president and first lady were evacuated after an armed assailant stormed past security guards and is suspected of intending to assassinate Trump.
"Kimmel's hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family is not comedy - his words are caustic and deepen the political sickness in America," Melania Trump writes on X.
Her husband calls the feature "shocking" and demands that Kimmel be fired.
"This is something that goes far beyond the bounds of decency," Trump writes on Truth Social.
