Since the USA announced last week that they would stop sharing military intelligence with Kyiv, Putin has launched large-scale robot and drone attacks on Ukraine, including attacks on the country's energy sector.
It seems like he's attacking them (Ukraine) harder than he has done before. And I think that's probably what anyone in that position would do right now, says Trump in the Oval Office, in response to a reporter's question about Putin taking advantage of the USA's paused intelligence sharing.
Trump also claims that Russia is easier to deal with than Ukraine, according to several media outlets. Things are going "very well" between the USA and Russia, according to the American president.
I honestly think it's harder to "deal" with Ukraine. And they don't hold the cards.
When it comes to reaching a final agreement, it may be easier to negotiate with Russia.
According to Trump, Putin wants peace, but he can't say the same about Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelenskyj. The Ukrainian president has, however, repeatedly stated that he wants peace, but not on Russia's terms.
On Friday, it was announced that the USA had also paused Ukraine's access to American satellite images, which have been used to track Russian movements and estimate damage after attacks.
Previously, Trump had threatened Russia with tariffs and expanded sanctions.
"Russia and Ukraine, come to the table now, before it's too late. Thank you", he wrote on his own platform Truth Social.
