The EU Commission's President Ursula von der Leyen has had difficulty getting a meeting with the US President Donald Trump after his inauguration.
But now it may be approaching.
Trump seems interested, at least.
She's fantastic. I hope we'll meet, said Trump to reporters when the US trade agreement with the UK was made public on Thursday, reports AFP.
Trump has previously expressed himself as anything but positive about the EU and, among other things, accused the union of being created to "mess with the USA". But now the tone is different.
The EU is a big thing. They really want to reach an agreement. Everyone wants to make deals with the USA, so that's what we do, said Trump according to AFP.
