"All military activity in Gaza must cease, including kite flying. We have conveyed this message through established channels," said a person within the peace council, according to the AFP news agency and the Times of Israel newspaper.
This weekend, Israel threatened to respond "with force" if Hamas, labeled a terrorist group, resumes a previous tactic of sending firebombs into Israel using kites.
The warning to Hamas is followed by warnings to Israel to limit its attacks in Gaza.
“Israel must also abide by the ceasefire; military actions cannot be carried out except in response to real and immediate threats,” the source said.
For his part, Israeli military Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said on Tuesday, according to the Times of Israel, that targeted attacks will continue until all those responsible for the October 7 attacks "are eliminated."
"We will not allow our enemies along the borders, and especially towards Gaza and Lebanon, to be strengthened. We will take every opportunity to repel threats when they arise," said Eyal Zamir.
