This follows a dispute between the company and the Pentagon.
"The United States will never allow a left-wing, woke corporation to dictate how our powerful military fights and wins wars!" Trump wrote in capital letters in a post on Truth Social.
"Therefore, I am instructing all federal agencies in the United States to immediately cease all use of Anthropic's technology. We don't need it, we don't want it, and we will not do business with them again!" the president continued.
He added that the use of the company's services will be phased out over a six-month period.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has called for the military to be able to use Anthropic's AI technology without restrictions or ethical reservations. However, the company's CEO, Dario Amodei, said on Thursday that the company could not "in good conscience" agree to such unrestricted access.
Dario Amodei is said to have set limits in talks with the Pentagon regarding secret mass surveillance and autonomous weapons systems.
