The President of the USA, Donald Trump, says he is open to his friend and adviser, tech billionaire Elon Musk, buying the Chinese-owned app Tiktok.
I would be fine with that if he wanted to, Trump replied to a question from reporters during a press conference on Tuesday evening.
Elon Musk already owns the media platform X and is often referred to as the richest man in the world. Tiktok is threatened with shutdown in the USA unless its Chinese parent company Bytedance finds an American buyer.
On his first day as President, Trump gave the popular app a 75-day deadline to find a solution. Donald Trump has said that he thinks the USA should own half of Tiktok.
