The US president's statement came after The Wall Street Journal reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had proposed a meeting with Trump and China's Xi Jinping.
The Kremlin confirmed earlier on Monday that “such a hypothetical meeting has been mentioned.”
But no concrete proposals or agreements have been discussed, says spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
The meeting would then take place during the APEC meeting in Shenzhen, China, in mid-November.
