Trump boarded an American government plane with a destination of Washington on Saturday, accompanied by his wife Melania Trump and their son Barron. The plane, a C-32 type, has been given the name "Special air mission 47" – a reference to Trump becoming the 47th President of the USA on Monday.
The theme of his inauguration speech will be "unity and strength" and also the keyword "justice", Trump stated in a phone interview with NBC News on Saturday.
Trump also said that he will sign "a record number" of documents and orders on his first day in the White House and emphasized that his promised mass deportations of undocumented immigrants have high priority.
It's going to start very early, very quickly, he said.
At the same time as Trump was traveling north, thousands of demonstrators gathered in Washington to express their discontent with Trump being sworn in again.
