The USA's incoming president Donald Trump has left Florida for Washington. On Monday, he takes over in the White House.

Trump boarded an American government plane with a destination of Washington on Saturday, along with his wife Melania Trump and their son Barron. The plane, a C-32 type, has been given the name "Special air mission 47" – a reference to Trump becoming the 47th President of the USA on Monday.

The celebration of the return to the White House began with fireworks and a party at Trump's golf course in Sterling, Virginia, just under 5 miles outside of Washington.

The theme of Trump's inaugural speech on Monday will be unity, strength, and justice, he himself stated in a phone interview with NBC News on Saturday.

Trump also said that he will sign "a record number" of documents and orders on his first day in the White House and emphasized that his promised mass deportations of undocumented immigrants have high priority.

It will start very early, very quickly, he said.

At the same time as Trump traveled north, thousands of demonstrators gathered in Washington to express their discontent with Trump being sworn in again.
