Pretti's recent death in Minneapolis has outraged large parts of the United States. Many see it as a veritable execution, because border police shot him despite his appearing to be unharmed.
But in a new post on Truth Social, Trump singles out Pretti as an obvious troublemaker. “Agitator and perhaps insurgent, Alex Pretti’s reputation has plummeted with the just-released video of him yelling and spitting at a very calm and controlled ICE officer,” the president writes.
The comments refer to a released video showing Pretti participating in a protest earlier in January against the immigration agency ICE's harsh crackdown.
