The meeting is being held in conjunction with the G7 meeting in Evian on Lake Geneva, which takes place from June 15 to 17.
French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed hope that the meeting can rebuild consensus between European leaders and the United States on support for Ukraine in the war against Russia.
During the G7 meeting, Trump is also expected to meet with several leaders from the Middle East for talks on how the war with Iran can come to an end, as well as discuss the issue of mine clearance in the Strait of Hormuz with allies.
The G7 consists of France, Italy, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States.
