Trump plans to talk about a possible American withdrawal from NATO with Rutte, according to press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The president is dissatisfied that NATO countries have not wanted to help open the Strait of Hormuz, which has been closed by Iran as a result of Trump's and Israel's war of aggression.
Trump is also considering punishing specific NATO countries that he believes were unhelpful during the war, sources within his administration told The Wall Street Journal that he would do so by moving American troops from those countries to other countries deemed more helpful.
The meeting between Trump and Rutte was scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m. local time in Sweden.
