Bill Pulte, who is currently the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, will become the acting director of the U.S. National Intelligence Service after Tulsi Gabbard resigned at the end of May.
"William has deep experience dealing with the most sensitive issues in the United States - the safety and soundness of the markets," Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform.
Meanwhile, Pulte, who has no direct experience in national intelligence work, will keep his job overseeing federal housing and mortgage policy.
