The department appeared on Friday, writes The Guardian . The vignette is “Misleading. Biased. Exposed.” (Misleading, biased, exposed).
The Boston Globe, CBS News and The Independent are labeled as this week's "offenders." Four reporters are mentioned by name.
The reason is the reporting of when Trump, in a post on Truth Social earlier in November, accused six Democratic congressional politicians of “seditious behavior” that is “punishable by death.” Trump's anger came after the Democrats, who are all veterans, reminded the country's military and intelligence officials in a joint video that they can “refuse to carry out illegal orders.”
Trump also spread another person's message: "Hang them."
The White House calls the report “fake news” on its website. According to the White House, the president did not talk about executing anyone at all, but only meant that Democrats should be held accountable for their call for the order to be refused. All of Trump’s decisions are also described as legal – something that is ultimately up to the country’s courts to decide.
The section also includes a “Hall of Shame” – which includes The Washington Post, CBS News, CNN and MSNBC – and a searchable database of past reporting that the White House disapproves of.
Trump personally has also recently distinguished himself through a series of personal attacks on journalists, not least female reporters. "Stupid", "ugly" and "little pig" are some of the invectives he has uttered.
