On his Truth Social platform, Trump uses his own term for AI, “superintelligence,” when presenting his vision for the force, which will lead government work on AI “which many say is greater than the industrial revolution and the internet” and will protect and improve the lives of all Americans.
The announcement does not specify exactly what the work entails, but the so-called Super Intelligence Force (SIF) will be led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton and will report directly to the president and his chief of staff, currently Susie Wiles.
Trump announced in mid-September that he intended to create an AI force. He dismissed warnings about AI as a “hoax” and said that the US must not lose the AI race to China.
