After the March elections, the previous prime minister, Liberal leader Robert Golob, was tasked with forming a government. But in April, it was announced that he had failed.
Instead, the baton passed, and on Friday the parliament voted to approve Janša's minority coalition by 51–36.
The coalition governs with the fragile support of five members of a pro-Russian party that was formed in 2021 to protest restrictions during the pandemic.
Janša first led the country in 2004 and has been compared to, and has often expressed support for, US President Donald Trump.
