The US President Donald Trump is trying to downplay the concerns that have arisen regarding his handling of the American economy.
After refusing to rule out the possibility of the country falling into recession this year over the weekend, he now tells reporters at the White House that he does not see a forthcoming recession.
At the same time, he brushes off the recent losses on Wall Street, saying it does not worry him.
Following the weekend's statements, the New York stock exchange plummeted, including the Nasdaq's technology-heavy index, which had its worst day since September 2022.
Over the weekend, Trump also said that the American economy would go through a "transition period".
