"Lower interest rates or I will stop trading with countries we have a deficit with!" Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Friday afternoon.
This is not the first time the US president has expressed similar views on the Fed. Trump has repeatedly criticised its former head, Jerome Powell, demanding, among other things, that he take action to lower the key interest rate.
In May, Kevin Warsh, who was nominated by Donald Trump, was sworn in as the new head of the US Federal Reserve.
