On social media, the White House motivates the decision by saying that companies "get millions from taxpayers to spread radical, woke propaganda disguised as 'news'".

On Thursday, Trump signed an order to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and to state authorities to withdraw the financing to the TV company PBS and the radio NPR.

The two public service companies receive approximately half a billion dollars in state support via the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, whose CEO Paula Kerger already criticized Donald Trump's ambitions to cut down the grants a month ago.

There is nothing more American than PBS and our work is possible only thanks to the support we have always received from the beginning.

The support has, according to Paula Kerger, made it possible, among other things, to make programs to "prepare millions of children for success in school and in life" and to make "enriching and high-quality programs".

According to NY Times, the support that public service receives through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is "a smaller part" of the total financing.

Earlier in the week, the organization sued Donald Trump for his decision to dismiss three of the five board members. According to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Donald Trump is overstepping his authority and making it impossible for it to make decisions.
