USA's president Donald Trump is threatening to move World Championship matches in football that he sees as security risks – in democratically governed cities. They are governed by radical left-wing lunatics, he says.

Next year's football World Championship for men is arranged by the USA together with Mexico and Canada.

The American president says in a speech at the White House that he expects the World Championship to be a safe arrangement, but that he is ready to move matches that can be thought of as "becoming a little dangerous", says Donald Trump.

If I do not think it is safe, we will move the matches to another city, he says according to AFP and Reuters.

Trump mentions nothing about what can be thought of as security risks. On the other hand, he specifically points out the World Championship cities Seattle and San Francisco, cities that are strong strongholds for the Democrats.

We will make sure they are safe. They are governed by radical left-wing lunatics who do not know what they are doing, says Trump according to Reuters.

Six matches will be played in Seattle and six in Santa Clara in California, a bit from San Francisco.

Trump has stated security reasons for deploying the national guard in several cities governed by the Democrats, including Los Angeles, despite objections from leaders at local and regional level.

As you probably know, we will go into Memphis and a few other cities, very soon we will go into Chicago. It will be safe for the World Championship. If it is not safe, we will move to another city, says Trump according to Reuters.

Trump also mentions that there may be changes to the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028 for security reasons.
