Trump campaigned for the party’s candidates in Iowa and Kansas - states where Republicans should normally be able to count on victory even without the president’s support.
“We will win,” Trump told the crowd in Iowa, describing the Democrats as “extreme and dangerous radicals.”
However, opinion polls ahead of the midterm elections show that the Democrats are likely to take over the majority from the Republicans in the House of Representatives and have a real chance of winning the Senate, which is now controlled by Republicans.
According to the White House, Trump will end his election campaign with a number of digital campaign rallies and a speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, scheduled for Monday evening at 8 p.m. Swedish time.
